100 themes challenge variation 3 #48: progress

First, lemme say sorry for taking so long to post and check DA. I have been a BUSY person. Putting in hours at work, doing paperwork, shadowing, starting a club, science presentations, club business, the works. ANYWAY I managed to get some art done just in time before the school semester starts this Monday and thought I'd share. 

This is my first attempt at digital art! This is a logo for a research lab in the US for a good friend/teacher of mine. She studies crayfish, hormones, and how social history impacts current social status. Pretty neat stuff! SO I thought it would be cool to make a crayfish out of the words that define it: anatomy, hormones, environment, etc. I really hope she likes it, and hope in some small way this art can encourage students to get more interested in science! Also guys, this is not your work. This belongs to myself and the Principal Investigator that requested this log for her laboratory. If you want a logo, make your own, or commission an artist to do so for you. Do not steal!

On a side note, I chose the theme progress for this picture because I feel this picture sorta defines all the changes I've made in my life this past half year.  Half a year ago, I was a totally different person, and shut myself off from the people who cared about me, the things that were important (like school,my future, health), and I even became disconnected with myself for the wrong reasons. I stopped drawing for a while too.  Half a year ago I never would've dreamed of attempting digital because it was different and I was against starting new things because of the work involved, the changes I had to make, and fear of failure. Now, I'm thinking and planning ahead for the future, and striving towards working at my full potential. Everyone including myself has noticed the difference. I've got a new outlook on life and I can't be more thankful. For me, this picture defines all the hard work I've put into my studies, my extracurricular activities, my life as a responsible adult and all strides I'm making towards the person I want to be. I'm not there yet, but this picture is one of the first steps, and I know I will surely get there!
